Schoolhouse Supplies Online is an innovative web-based supply store operated by Portland’s only Free Store for Teachers. We’re changing the way families do their back-to-school shopping by providing kits that exactly match the supply list of each child’s assigned classroom and delivering the supplies to each student’s classroom by the first day of school. Not only that, but proceeds from the sales also benefit Schoolhouse Supplies – The Free Store for Teachers, so parents have the added satisfaction of knowing they are ensuring all children across the district have the supplies they need for the school year.

How do I know this website is safe and legitimate?
This site is designed and run by Portland Public Schools parents and Schoolhouse Supplies’ volunteers and staff. The site utilizes the same secure encryption methods as online banking and retail locations to ensure your purchases and information are safe. Is this purchase tax deductible?
The purchase of the supplies is not tax deductible. Because you are receiving supplies with a value equivalent to the price you are paying, this purchase is not considered a tax deductible donation. However, as you are reviewing your order, you will have the option of making a 100% tax deductible donation and will receive a receipt for your tax purposes. Why can’t I buy all of the supplies I need for my child(ren)?
Though parents can order most of their student’s supplies through Schoolhouse Supplies Online, there are some “individual” items that must be purchased separately. These are supplies such as backpacks and water bottles that many students prefer to select themselves because of style or color preferences. Others are additional optional items that may be used by the whole class.
How will I know that the supplies have been delivered to the school on time?
You will receive a confirmation email letting you know that your child(ren)’s supplies have been delivered to their classroom(s). Questions? Email courtney@schoolhousesupplies.org
